After much deliberation on November’s contenders, we chose an special group of artists that are sure to inspire!

José Ángel – “Transformación”

José Ángel’s realistic greenhouse interior is the result of impeccably honed architectural visualization, lighting, and vegetation modeling. From stills to moving image, read our interview with archviz artist Vincent Filhine-Tresarrieu to get an in-depth look at the process behind building believable worlds.

Emily Choo and Philip Purol – “Homestead: A Collaborative Project”

Based on concept art by Anya Jo Elvidge, “Homestead” is a cozy, stylized scene with orange primroses and purple lavender dotting the foreground. The contrasting colors lead the viewer to breathtaking views through doorways and window arches. For more insight on building stylized environments, check out our interview with Florian Elie

Sergey Sobin – “Cave UE5”

The cave of Sergey Sobin offers many different points of interest to enjoy: breaks in the ceiling beneath which plants grow on rocks by crystalline water; pathways lead both to the entrance and the ruins deeper within. If dramatically lit trees are in the cards for your next project, we’ve got a great interview and tutorial with ILM artist Adrien Lambert

Garrett Oetter – “Garrett Oetter Demo reel 2021 Swamp Outpost UE4”

Based on concept art by Magnus Schramm, Garrett Oetter has rendered a painterly fantasy scene, one of the last bastions of hope for humanity in a world ravaged by monsters and magic. For more fantasy and world-building inspiration, our interview with concept artist Finnian Macmanus is a must-read!

Paul Hutchinson – “A Long Journey”

If you’re feeling chilly, warm-up with this heart-melting short Paul Hutchinson made to propose to his wife. To build a world with dynamic landscapes that change over time, brush up on creating seasonal variations of vegetation in SpeedTree

Magnolia Zenii
(Games)

The slender trunks of the trees in José Ángel’s, “Transformación,” are reminiscent of the Magnolia zenii, a critically endangered species native to China.

Balloon Vine
(Games)

Similar to the white flowered vines overtaking “Homestead,” our balloon vine could make a great addition to your walls and groundcover.

Banyan
(Cinema | Games)

The fledgling cave tree in Sergey Sobin’s, “Cave UE5,” looks a lot like our Banyan sapling.

Italian Cypress
(Cinema | Games)

Our Italian cypress is just a strong breeze away from looking like the foreground trees in Garrett Oetter’s, “Swamp Outpost UE4”.

White Oak
(Cinema | Games)

With a dense trunk and snaking branches, the bears in Paul Hutchinson’s, “A Long Journey,” venture by trees similar to our white oak.
