Another month has flown by! As we look forward to what we’ll see in March, we’re shouting out our five favorite projects from February 2020!

James Hodgart – A Scottish River

Using the procedural power of SpeedTree, James Hodgart’s lovingly crafted landscapes of home are populated with meticulously detailed foliage.

Samuel Sheath – Zelda Forest Temple

Breath of the Wild continues to inspire artists to create gorgeous, stylized environments. Samuel Sheath’s, “Zelda Forest Temple,” is a standout example of the stylistic capabilities of SpeedTree.

Lucas Céspedes – CABIN BY THE LAKE

This autumnal scene is bursting with color and really showcases the benefits of SpeedTree’s seasonal variation slider.

Jonathan Holmes – Kissimmee Prairie Preserve

Jonathan Holmes, creator of Hall of Memories brings another Florida environment to life using SpeedTree to craft the gnarled trunks of the Kissimmee Prairie Preserve.

Matthaeus Luef – Nevada

Matthaeus Luef’s desert environment project stands in stark contrast to its water adjacent peers, showcasing the versatility of what environments can be made using the SpeedTree modeler.

Scots Pine

(Cinema)

There’s no better pine to be inspired by Hodgart’s Scottish riverside

Japanese Cedar

(Cinema | Games)

Though not native to Hyrule, the Japanese cedar’s shape and foliage are similar to those found in Samuel Sheath’s temple scene

Sweetgum

(Cinema | Games)

Lucas’ lakeside scene would provide a lovely home for our loamy soil seeking Sweetgum

Coastal Live Oak

(Cinema)

The winding branches of our live oak are evocative of iconic Southeastern landscapes like those found in the Kissimmee Prairie Preserve

Yucca Palm

(Games)

This desert dwelling palm hails from the Mojave, an environment that extends through Nevada, like Matthaeus’ road
