Time flies and May has come to a close. If you spent the month far from social media but still want to see some beautiful environment design, here are 5 of our favorite projects from May!

Ali Ghadimi – The Outskirts of Bonabba

This gorgeous, realtime fantasy environment was created over the course of 10 weeks in Anthony Vaccaro’s Organic World Building class at CG Master Academy.

Daniel Favini – Sato No Eki – 里の駅

This archviz cinematic was created by the DNEG artist as an experimental learning exercise for a future project in Karuizawa, Nagano.

Aaron Westwood – Cinderella

This fairy tale inspired piece is a meeting of real and surreal; the bleak, polluted landscape of “Cinderella,” contrasts beautifully with the titular character’s yellow dress as she returns home carrying one slipper.

Alex Patel – The Plantation

Fog obscures the view deeper into this densely populated forest; with a mixture of photogrammetry models and well-tuned lighting, the vegetation in “The Plantation” shines.

Isaac Watkins – Cabin by the River

We interviewed Staffordshire University student Isaac Watkins to learn how they created this beautiful, Kinkade-esque environment.

Pignut Hickory

(Games)

The Pignut Hickory brings a sense of diversity in scale and growth, similar to that found in, “The Outskirts of Bonabba”

Japanese Cedar

(Cinema)

The Japanese Cedar is a towering conifer comparable to those found in “Sato No Eki” (add levels to your environment with the Dwarf Japanese Cedar, available as Cinema and Games models!)

London Plane

(Cinema | Games)

The London Plane is resistant to pollution and is therefore suited for the smoggy environment of “Cinderella”

Dogwood: Photogrammetry

(Cinema)

The Photogrammetry Dogwood brings ample detail like those assets found in “The Plantation”

Douglas Fir

(Cinema)

The Douglas Fir is at home in higher elevation and by the mountains, much like the “Cabin by the River”
