Cucurbita maxima or the field Pumpkin, is a winter squash fruit commonly associated with autumn. The pumpkin’s name first appeared in the 17th century fairytale “Cinderella,”; previously they were known as “Pompions.” They are grown on every continent excluding Antarctica.
