Brazilian peppertree
Schinus terebinthifolia, also known as the Brazilian peppertree, is an evergreen flowering relative of the cashew native to South America. This invasive species is remarkably resilient and able to thrive in a variety of environments ranging from semi-aquatic swamplands to arid dunes. Despite being poisonous to the touch for many, it is still frequently used as a Christmas decoration due to its bright red and green colors.
