Description
Acacia (Fallen)
Vachellia tortillis, or the Umbrella Thorned Acacia, is a drought-resistant tree with an umbrella-shaped, thorn-bearing canopy. This slow-growing tree reaches heights between 5 and 20 meters in nature and with medium at 3 and 5 in cultivation. This species is found widely distributed in the savannah and Sahel of Africa but can also be found in the Middle East. In addition to being a useful lumber, protective shelter for animals, and an attractive decorative tree, the Umbrella Thorned Acacia is also a rehabilitative plant, tolerating a range of harsh environmental conditions and fixing nitrogen into the soil.
