Description
Rowan
While the common name for this tree is Mountain Ash, this smaller shrub-like species with bright red berries is actually a part of the Rose family. They are notorious for growing in hard conditions along mountain tops, but they also are nice additions to residential areas. Its name etymology, Rowan, dates back to England and Scotland or perhaps Germany. This tree is associated with old lore, witches, rituals and some Christian symbiology. J.R.R Tolkien even based one of his Ents, named Quickbeam, off of the Rowan tree.
