Description
Dogwood
The Dogwood tree is a small deciduous tree with berries, distinctive spring flowers, and dark, rough bark. They grow in forest outskirts and are often cultivated for landscaping. Its “flowers” are actually made up of 20 to 30 individual flowers framed by white bracts resembling petals. In the Victorian Era, accepting a Dogwood flower would signal romantic interest and the refusal would signal love unrequited.
