As the chill of Autumn settles in, we’re looking back at 5 of our favorite user projects from September 2019!

Constantin Vilsmeier – Brave Tiny Infantry

The rodent soldier in Constantin Vilsmeier’s, “Brave Tiny Infantry,” while dressed and armed for conflict, is also adorned with flowers on its helmet, cascading down its two-handed weapon, imprinted on its armor, and even printed on its sleeves. The finished image is a balance of both delicate vulnerability and strength.

Andrea Sguanci – K11 House

Andrea Sguanci’s “K11 House,” is another example of the artist’s ability to create uncannily realistic nature scenes that are messy and detailed enough to get lost in.

Paul Carstens – The Legend of King Arthur: ArtStation Challenge

The entries to the 2019, “The Legend of King Arthur,” ArtStation challenge spanned a spectacular range of styles. Among them, Paul Carsten’s entry really shined with its research, design, and approach to storytelling. We weren’t alone in our appreciation: Paul’s entry received an Honourable Mention in the Game Environment/Level Art category (see the challenge results here).

Cihan Ozkan – Simplicity…

We’ve featured Cihan’s work a number of times this year. Despite creating work one might label as architectural visualizations, the richly detailed environments Cihan makes are often the center of attention. Small additions, like the figure in the clearing, bring with them a subtle sense of personality that’ll have your attention lingering a moment longer than the average render.

Jonathan Holmes – Hall of Memories

To create this gorgeous scene, Johnathan Holmes reflected on his vivid memories of a strip of forest behind a friend’s house in Florida, 1995. Though preserved digitally, today the strip of forest has been developed into another single-family subdivision named “Wekiva Reserve”

Daisy

(Cinema | Games)

The ubiquity of flowers in Constantin Vilsmeier’s piece reminds us of the common daisy

Sugar Maple (Photogrammetry)

(Cinema)

Our photogrammetry based Sugar Maple would feel right at home in the meticulously detailed worlds of Andrea Sguanci

Holm Oak

(Games)

The tree that stretches toward the sunlight streaming into the cavern above the kelpie in Paul Carsten’s entry to “The Legend of King Arthur” challenge reminds us of our Holm Oak

Scots Pine

(Cinema)

The pines looming above the building in Cihan’s, “Simplicity…” remind us of our Scots Pine

Coastal Live Oak

(Cinema)

Similar to the oaks found in Jonathan’s, “Hall of Memories,” the Coastal Live Oak is adorned with Spanish moss and shades its surroundings with graceful, winding branches
