We get excited every time an artist tags us in their work or provides valuable insight into how they use SpeedTree. Lucky for us, a lot of incredible artists shared their projects in 2019. Here are 10 of our favorites–check them out for some 2020 inspiration!

Jonathan Holmes – Hall of Memories

As we reflect on the past year, a piece that comes to mind is Jonathan Holmes’ depiction of the woods behind his childhood friend’s home, brought to life through the procedural capabilities of the SpeedTree modeler.

Michael Di Lonardo – Into the Upside Down

Michael Di Lonardo takes us on a foreboding and mesmerizing journey in “Into the Upside Down,” where he emphasizes the mood through lighting design and two very different sets of foliage.

Mathew O – Mothers Milk

While you may be drawn to the warm flashes of light penetrating the fog in Mathew O’s “Mothers Milk,” these lights portend the slow draining of a dying earth’s remaining life essence from lovingly-detailed trunks.

Jakob Keudel – THE VOID

In Jakob Keudel’s incredible take on artwork from Simon Stålenhag’s The Electric State, overgrown foliage and forested landscapes in “The Void” contrast the looming dystopian structures.

Koola – UE4 -Storm Test

In Koola’s terrifying “UE4 – Storm Test,” a storm of incredible power and magnitude sweeps across the city, showcasing the dynamic wind animation of the SpeedTrees in frame.

Johann Funk – Illusio

The dark tones in “Illusio,” are interrupted by the saturated green of the plants sprouting from the ground. Artist Johann Funk used a mesh force to craft the roots reclaiming the room, guiding the viewer’s eye to the sunlight.

Kieran Goodson – Those Who Mourn

The compositions in Kieran Goodson’s, “Those Who Mourn,” are worth studying. Goodson’s core theme is, “…reassurance in an overwhelming sea of uncertainty” and following the piece from inspiration to actualization can provide valuable insights into creating meaningful environments of your own. The bending trunks of Goodson’s forest are an inspiring example of what can be achieved using SpeedTree’s hand-drawing feature.

Andrea Sguanci – K11 House

Archviz artist Andrea Sguanci’s meticulously detailed environment utilizes the SpeedTree-Megascans workflow to frame his “K11 House.”

(Read our October 2019 Artist Highlight interview with Andrea to learn about his workflow!)

Hossein Yadollahpour – The Dream House (& Nasu Tepee)

Hossein Yadollahpour’s “The Dream House” is an archviz passion project that’s just plain fun to explore. He uses abundant and diverse nature assets to expertly frame the luxury villa’s exterior garden.

Cihan Ozkan – Serenity…

Cihan Ozkan’s, “Serenity…” is one of the many pieces from this prolific archviz artist that we shared in 2019. Seeing SpeedTrees in flower pots and hanging from a trellis hits us in that homey spot, adding to the cluttered porch’s lived-in personality.

This year, we hope you keep sharing your projects, artwork, and feedback with us. Happy New Year from SpeedTree!
